Weber State University Gradution 2012

We did it! Derek and I are officially done with our undergraduate degrees! Let me tell you it feels so good to not have to worry about homework, tests, and going to class. It was a very emotionally charged day and pretty bitter sweet. I know that Derek and I both worked with some wonderful professors that made a huge impact on our lives. We also made some friends that I know we'll keep in touch with. It was kind of hard to say good bye to those that we knew we most likely won't see again.

Derek's graduation ceremony was first for the day. He got his Bachelor's of Science in Physics. I admit, I got a bit teary eyed when I saw his shake Dr. Carrol's hand and get his diploma. I'm so proud of him and his accomplishments. He has worked so hard and made sacrifices for our family and especially for me so that I could do better in classes.

 The girls with Derek's parents.
The entire physics department that graduated this year! It was the biggest class they've had in quite some time.
My graduation was later in the day. We were a bit nervous to see how the girls were going to behave since they had already sat through Derek's but they did surprisingly well. My ceremony was much longer then Derek's because my college has all of the graduating nurses. Let me tell you, that was half of the ceremony! I did see some friends that graduated with different degrees so that was fun, too. I officially have my Bachelor's of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences! In July I sit for my certification exam so while I'm done with classes I still have some studying to do to pass my boards.

Tomorrow I start my two week lab rotation. I'll be following another lab technician in the hospital lab and pretty much just watch how things work in the real world! I'm so used to test values being totally abnormal and things not looking as they should so it's going to be an interesting experience. The bright side is that I got to buy new scrubs!

Keeping In Touch

Hooray!! I've started a new blog! I totally sucked at keeping up on my other family blog. Lets face it, mom to three girls, wife to fabulous hubby, full time student, maid, and chef don't really leave time for a lot of blogging. But know that I'm graduating (ON FRIDAY!!) and we're moving to Florida I thought it would be a ingenious idea to start a new one to help keep our family and friends up to date with our lives. I'll admit that I call my mom about every three days and I'm always telling her what the girls are doing and I know that she's secretly thinking that she could see it! So voila, here we are. I know that Derek's family would love to see what's going on as well. And well, who wouldn't want to see pictures of my adorable drama queens?!

Alright, onto business! Last weekend was Easter and we just hung around home. It was stake conference and while my kids are pretty well behaved at church, we knew that trying to get them to sit for two hours was going to be pushing it. So we dyed eggs, ate candy, and then we had a small lesson on why we celebrate Easter. I bought some beautiful dresses for the girls, I pulled them out tonight to give them to the girls and they are so excited to wear them tomorrow. Pictures to come!

The Easter Bunny was a bit lazy this year, okay, actually since we're moving I didn't want to have to go out and dig around for their baskets so I combined them all into one. That also means less candy, good for the kids, heaven knows they don't need anymore sugar, but bad for me. It's now obvious when I eat some! Keyleigh got a new Disney princess game for her DS, Becka got a new barbie, and Ashlyn got some new clothes for her baby. All in all, we had a great Easter!

At the beginning of the month, Derek celebrated his 29th birthday! Our parents and I went in together and got him the new Kindle Fire. Yeah, we're pretty fabulous right?! He's also extremely spoiled... but I have to room to talk.  Anyways, I was so excited to give it to him I made him open it before we left for school! I am horrible at keeping secrets from him, especially about gifts but I was able to keep it quiet this year! We then went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and of course the girls made sure to have the staff sing to him and it wouldn't have been complete had he not gotten to sit on the saddle! The girls and I are pretty lucky to have him around. Not only is he devilishly handsome but he works so hard for us! Love you babe!!

And now that I'm blogging again, make sure to leave comments!
